In my honest opinion you can’t beat a night out watching live music. Whether it’s a full blown stadium concert, a festival, a theatre event or an intimate pub venue, live music for me can be very rewarding.

I guess I should point out that I go to lots of concerts and Live music events and some would actually say I go to too many, although I do know of one person who goes to even more than I do . . . and you know who you are!

So the main aim for this listing of live music in my area is to remind me what is happening and in turn it might also be of help to my friends and colleagues and those people I meet at gigs. It can be especially helpful in cases where there are a few events on the same night and I need to make a decision as to which one to go to.

As a lot of the concerts I go to are mid week and I still have to go to work next morning, my listing mainly covers an area of 30-40 miles from where I live i.e. No more than an hour and half’s journey.

There is no way I could list every live music event that is happening in the area so I have restricted the genre of music to that that interest me, which actually could be anything from Folk, Rock, Americana, Jazz, Blues . . . You name it I might listen to it!

As mentioned I can’t list every event that is happening so make sure you check out the Venues page and check out the web sites, you will probably find something I’ve missed

Wherever possible I will try to keep this listing up to date but work and gigs often get in the way.

So simply click on a month opposite to bring up a listings in a given month. You can then click on the venue name to direct you to their web site, please ensure  you always check these sites for ticket availability and to confirm that the event is still going ahead, especially if you are travelling far.

The aim of the Go Live page is where I can recommend a few shows to go to during a given month. OK so I’m no expert and music is a very subjective issue so please only use this as a guide. I guess if you don’t like any of the shows I recommend you could use this as a way to judge the gigs NOT to go to, but what every you do get out and see some live music.
